13 tons of stinky puffer fish from Nghe An to Quang Binh for consumption

(Baonghean.vn) - The Provincial Police Department's Environmental Police Department said that the unit has just discovered and seized 13 tons of puffer fish of unknown origin that were emitting a foul odor.

At 10:00 p.m. on August 1, 2017, on National Highway 1A in Nghi Yen Commune, Nghi Loc District, the Environmental Police Department coordinated with Nghi Loc District Police to discover and arrest car with license plate 72C-054.67 driven by Nguyen Thanh Long (born in 1977, residing in Long Hai Town, Long Dien District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province).

Upon inspection, police discovered that the vehicle was transporting 13 tons of puffer fish that gave off a foul odor and polluted the environment.The driver could not prove the origin and legal paperwork of the fish.

At the investigation agency, the driver confessed to being the owner of the above goods. The fish were purchased from Quynh Tien port, Quynh Luu district and were being transported to Quang Binh province for consumption.
