14 people died in traffic accidents on the day Vietnam team won the AFF Cup
On the day the Vietnamese football team won the AFF Cup 2018, there were 19 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 14 people.
According to the Traffic Police Department, on December 15, there were 19 road traffic accidents nationwide, killing 14 people and injuring 10 others.
Immediately after the second leg of the final match between Vietnam and Malaysia, people took to the streets to celebrate the victory, causing traffic in many localities to increase dramatically, especially in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The Traffic Police Department and Traffic Police Department of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other localities have coordinated with functional forces to organize traffic flow regulation to avoid prolonged congestion.

In Ho Chi Minh City, traffic police recorded 141 cases of traffic safety violations and temporarily detained 115 vehicles of various types.
Of these, there were 53 cases of not wearing helmets, 9 cases of driving in groups, 13 cases of alcohol violations, 3 cases of going the wrong way, 5 cases of revving the engine, 1 case of a three-wheeled vehicle carrying more people than the prescribed number, and 60 other violations.
Also during the “storm”, a serious traffic accident occurred in Ho Chi Minh City. A young man (identity unknown) riding an Air Blade motorbike on Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Tan Binh District collided with a tanker truck going in the same direction. The young man fell onto the road and was run over by the tanker truck, killing him on the spot.
A particularly serious traffic accident occurred this morning in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province when a group of people were drinking and celebrating the victory of the Vietnamese team on the sidewalk of National Highway 51 in Hai Son neighborhood, Phuoc Hoa ward, Phu My town, when they were hit by a passenger bus, killing two people on the spot.
