14 billion VND is the initial bonus for the 29th SEA Games Vietnam delegation.

The Vietnam Sports Delegation (VSD) ended the 29th SEA Games with 58 gold medals, 50 silver medals and 60 bronze medals. With the total number of medals just mentioned, based on the current bonus level, the bonus for the team of athletes and coaches on duty at the Southeast Asian Games is about 14 billion VND.

Specifically, the bonus for each gold medal is 45 million VND, each silver medal is 25 million VND and each bronze medal is 20 million VND. Both athletes and coaches will be rewarded at the above rates. However, the national team coach will receive 60% of the above amount, while the grassroots coach - the place where successful coaches are trained - will receive 40%.

For medals in team events, such as women's football, men's and women's futsal, men's table tennis, women's 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams... the bonus will be the amounts as mentioned above, multiplied by the number of people in each specific team.

For example, the women's football team that wins the gold medal will have the highest bonus for one event, which is 1 billion 125 million VND, because this team has 25 members according to the regulations of the Organizing Committee of football tournaments around the world.

On an individual level, Nguyen Thi Anh Vien is the highest-rewarded athlete of the Vietnamese sports delegation, with 8 gold medals (VND 360 million), 2 silver medals (VND 50 million) and 3 SEA Games records (VND 45 million). In total, Anh Vien received VND 445 million from the Sports and Physical Training Department, not to mention VND 80 million in bonus money received on the spot (VND 10 million/gold medal) and 8 Smart TVs in kind from sponsors.

The above figures are only the bonuses of the sports industry, the localities and sport federations will have additional bonuses. For example, the women's football team will receive additional bonuses from the VFF and socialized sources (according to the previous announcement, the Vietnamese women's football team received about 4 billion VND from these sources).

As for athletes from Ho Chi Minh City, they will receive the same amount of bonus for each medal of the industry. For example, players currently playing for the Ho Chi Minh City women's team such as Kieu Trinh, Chuong Thi Kieu, Huynh Nhu, they will each receive an additional 45 million VND for winning the SEA Games gold medal.

Or the new “speed queen” Le Tu Chinh will receive an additional 135 million VND for 3 gold medals (100m, 200m and 4x100m women) from the host unit Ho Chi Minh City, which she achieved through the 29th SEA Games. In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City Athletics Federation also has an additional bonus for Tu Chinh, as previously announced, for the city's track and field athletes who win SEA Games medals.

Therefore, the 14 billion VND bonus for athletes and coaches participating in SEA Games 29 is just the initial figure.
