143 homemade guns voluntarily handed over by people

On the morning of January 12, Con Cuong District Police coordinated with police from 13 communes and towns in the area to collect weapons, explosives, and support tools voluntarily handed over by the people.

After one day of receiving in 13 communes and towns in the district, 143 homemade guns, 4 swords, 47 electric shockers, 12 dangerous toy guns were recovered. All of the above weapons were handled by the district police according to regulations.

Most of the weapons are homemade, used to hunt birds, animals, or hidden in the house. Although they are homemade guns, the lethality of these weapons is very high. Therefore, after being informed and mobilized, people voluntarily brought the above weapons to the police of communes and towns to hand them over.

This is the first time that Con Cuong District Police have recovered such a large number of weapons in such a short period of time. Currently, the campaign to collect guns from the people is still being carried out to ensure security and order in the area.

In recent times, the management of weapons - explosives - supporting tools in Con Cuong district has been seriously implemented. For communes and towns in the district, propaganda work has continued to be promoted to create positive changes among the people about the harmful effects as well as the risks of storing and using weapons - explosives - supporting tools.
