147 artists attend the North Central Region Fine Arts Exhibition in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - The exhibition is an important cultural event to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. This is the fourth time Nghe An province has hosted this event.

The exhibition opened on the morning of August 15 at the Provincial Cultural Center. Attending the opening ceremony, on behalf of Nghe An province were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ho Mau Thanh - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, Chairman of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association; and representatives of relevant departments and branches.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong affirmed that Nghe An is a land of outstanding people, the homeland of many heroes, writers and famous artists. This year's exhibition aims to encourage visual artists to create new works and bring Fine Arts to a wide audience, contributing to promoting Fine Arts activities in the North Central provinces; discovering new factors to develop creative forces in localities.
Along with that, this event will create conditions for visual artists and art lovers of Nghe An province to learn and exchange with provinces and cities in the region; introduce and widely promote the image of the country and people of the Central region, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people.

This year's exhibition attracted 147 authors and 154 works in the fields of painting, graphics, sculpture, applied arts, etc. While recognizing and appreciating the passion and creative efforts of the authors, President of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association Tran Khanh Chuong also frankly pointed out the limitations in the current state of fine arts creation in general and the works participating in the exhibition in particular.
"We received hundreds of works submitted for the exhibition, but there was a lack of works reflecting the theme of building and protecting the Fatherland such as the image of today's soldiers, new countryside..." - Mr. Tran Khanh Chuong said.
The exhibition will take place over 7 days (August 15-21), open to the public.

At the exhibition, the Art Council also announced the authors and winning works. Accordingly, 1 A prize for the work "Rescue" - unique printed material by author Le Thi Thanh, Thanh Hoa unit; 1 B prize for the work "Storm - Obsession" - woodcut material by author Ho Thiet Trinh, Nghe An unit; 1 C prize for the work "Boat returning to the wharf" - oil painting material by author Nguyen Hoang Linh, Thanh Hoa unit.
The Organizing Committee also selected two works to award the Encouragement Prize: "Highland Market" by author Nguyen Dinh Truyen, Nghe An unit and "Dung Dang" by author Nguyen Luong Sang, Quang Binh unit.
