15 Mexican police officers killed in ambush
Fifteen police officers were killed and five others wounded in an ambush in the Mexican state of Jalisco, prosecutors said.
Gunmen targeted a police convoy as it traveled along a highway to the capital Guadalajara, Jalisco state, on April 6. Security Commissioner Alejandro Solorio called it a "cowardly attack".
The area is home to a network of drug gangs known as Jalisco New Generation, but Security Commissioner Solorio did not say which gang was behind the ambush.

Jalisco New Generation is considered one of the most powerful gangs in Mexico and has been involved in large-scale drug trafficking along the Pacific coast.
Raul Benitez, a security expert at the National University of Mexico, said the attacks on the afternoon of April 6 were carefully planned and orchestrated in advance.
"A lot of gunmen were involved in the ambush. They blocked the highway, surrounded and attacked the police," Raul Benitez told AP.
This ambush is the latest in a series of killings in the area over the past two weeks.
On March 19, a gunman shot dead five police officers in an attack in the state of Jalisco. On April 6, the police chief of the town of Zacoalco de Torres, Jalisco, was also killed.
