15 players involved in the scandal could face lifetime bans.

A day after the police arrested six Dong Nai players in connection with match-fixing in their away game against Than Quang Ninh, the VFF Disciplinary Committee issued a decision today, July 23rd, suspending these six players from playing, which was sent to the club.

Mr. Nguyen Hai Huong, Head of the VFF Disciplinary Committee, said: "This is just a formality. In reality, the penalties these players will receive are much greater. After the investigation phase is completed and the case is brought to trial, the disciplinary committee will issue specific disciplinary measures for each player's violations."

These players have ruined their careers and eliminated themselves from professional football.

Previously, the VFF (Vietnam Football Federation) had made a similar decision regarding 9 V. Ninh Binh players involved in the match-fixing scandal in the AFC Cup, including 3 players who have been temporarily detained by the investigating authorities for "gambling".

So far, at least 15 players have been suspended by the VFF (Vietnam Football Federation), and the number could increase as the police confirm they are continuing to expand their investigation into other suspected matches.

According to a statement by VFF President Le Hung Dung, all the aforementioned players will be permanently banned from professional football in Vietnam. Along with this, many fan clubs nationwide agree with the VFF's strong stance on dealing with negative behavior.
