Fifteen localities participated in the 2014 National Ca Tru Festival.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has assigned the National Academy of Music to organize the 2014 National Ca Tru Festival.

The festival is expected to take place in August in Hanoi, featuring traditional Ca Tru singing troupes and clubs from 15 provinces and cities with Ca Tru heritage, such as Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Ha Tinh, Hai Duong, etc.

Although the birthplace of ca trù is the Northern and Central plains, this festival includes participation from a southern locality, Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2005, the first National Ca Tru Festival was held in Ha Tinh. Since then, the cultural sector has organized the Ca Tru Festival four times. In 2009, Ca Tru was recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, but was classified as requiring urgent protection. However, currently, Ca Tru still faces many difficulties in the work of preserving and promoting its value.
