(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 13, at Quynh Phuong border post (Hoang Mai town), the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center organized a handover of 15 crew members on the fishing boat that had just been rescued and safely towed to Lach Con wharf.

Previously, at 4:00 a.m. on December 12, fishing boat NA 90144-TS captained by Mr. Hoang Luan (residing in Hong Thai block, Quynh Phuong ward, Hoang Mai town) was fishing in the Gulf of Tonkin, nearly 100 nautical miles from Con creek mouth, when fishing boat TH 90272-TS (in Thanh Hoa) rammed into the side and fled.

Upon receiving the information, Nghe An Provincial Border Guard mobilized forces, dispatched ship CN 09 with registration number BP 06.19.01 including 15 officers and soldiers of Squadron 2, Provincial Border Guard led by Captain Le Xuan Huong - Deputy Squadron Leader, Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center dispatched ship SAR 411 led by Captain Nguyen Manh Dung with 20 officers and soldiers to coordinate the rescue work.

At 8:00 a.m. on December 13, Mr. Hoang Luan's ship and all crew members were safely brought to Lach Con wharf. The ship was severely damaged, with the entire stern section torn off, the starboard side split 5-6 meters long, with estimated damage of about 300 million VND. Mr. Hoang Luan said that the ship would be repaired at Lach Con wharf first. It is expected that within about a month, the entire repair will be completed and the ship can go out to sea.

At the handover ceremony, the Vietnam Maritime Administration, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center, the Hoang Mai Town Government, Quynh Phuong Ward, and the Quynh Phuong Border Guard Station presented gifts to the fishermen who had just been in an accident. The departments also presented some life jackets to the crew of Mr. Hoang Luan's ship to equip the fishermen when participating in seafood exploitation at sea.

Currently, Nghe An Provincial Border Guard is contacting Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard to coordinate and investigate the cause of Mr. Luan's fishing boat being hit./.
