156 enterprises in Nghe An participate in export
(Baonghean.vn) - In 2018, the province's export turnover is estimated to reach over 1.053 billion USD, exceeding 5.33% compared to the annual plan target (1 billion USD); of which goods are estimated to reach 720.21 million USD, with 156 enterprises participating in export.
In 2018, enterprises in the province exported nearly 50 items/groups of items to foreign markets, of which 3 items achieved a turnover of over 100 million USD; 10 items achieved a turnover of 10 - 100 million USD.
The province's key product groups such as textiles, cassava starch, seafood, various stone products, etc. have increased export turnover compared to 2017.

The textile and garment group continues to rank in the leading position in exports to 32 countries, with a fairly high growth rate in export turnover, estimated at 184.8 million USD, an increase of 8.6% over the same period in 2017 (170.12 million USD).
Wood chips are also an export item that is always in the top of the province, with 9 enterprises participating in the export with a turnover of nearly 153 million USD, accounting for 21.23% of the total export turnover of goods, an increase of 33.25% compared to 2017 (114.77 million USD). Currently, wood chip products are exported to the markets of China, Laos and Hong Kong...
Export markets are constantly expanding, from 112 countries in 2017 to 114 countries in 2018.
Export turnover of FDI enterprises is stable, estimated at 190.2 million USD, accounting for 26.4% of total export turnover of goods.
Many exported products have quality standards in countries such as Japan, USA, Germany, etc.
The purchase and consumption of agricultural, forestry and seafood products for farmers in the province has achieved quite good results. There has been no backlog of products, including peanuts, green tea, forestry products, seafood, cassava, etc.

However, according to the Department of Industry and Trade, the export scale is still small compared to the potential and development requirements; the average export turnover per capita is still low compared to the national average.
Although exports in 2018 continued to grow, they were not really stable and not very effective; the number of export items of enterprises still depended on goods from other provinces and foreign markets (such as cassava starch, pepper, wood products, etc.).
