16 individuals received the 'Accompanying the nation' Medal
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 12, the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee held a conference to summarize the patriotic emulation movement among Catholics in 2016 and deploy the work program for 2017.
Attending the event were comrade Nguyen Van Huy - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee and the Religious Affairs Committee (Department of Home Affairs).

In 2016, the activities of the Catholic Solidarity Committee at all levels had innovations, focusing on deeply encouraging and guiding the building of grassroots movements, gathering and replicating advanced and excellent models, examples of good people, good deeds... The patriotic emulation movement of Catholic compatriots continued to be promoted and developed in all fields, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

Many models in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery, industry, handicrafts, trade services, industry development, livestock, fishing, and farm economy continue to be maintained and developed, creating jobs for thousands of workers, with stable incomes of 4.5-5 million VND/month. The rate of well-off households increased, and the rate of poor households decreased to 11% (the average of the province is 9%).

Responding to the Campaign for the whole people to unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas, in 2016, the parishioners of the province donated 26,910m2 of land and voluntarily dismantled more than 4,000m of surrounding walls to build rural traffic. Civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, festivals, building cultural families, cultural residential areas, and cultural villages continues to be promoted.

In 2016, the number of parishioners achieving the title of cultural family reached 78%, an increase of 4% compared to 2015. The education of children is of concern to priests, parish pastoral councils, parishes, and parishioners. In many parishes, they have established a scholarship fund, organized free summer classes... to promptly encourage parishioners' children to excel in their studies.
In 2016, there were 120 national excellent students, 615 students passed the university and college entrance exams. The parishioners complied with and implemented the Party's policies, the State's laws, and local regulations.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Van Huy - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front commended and acknowledged the achievements and contributions of the Catholic Solidarity Committees at all levels and Catholics through responding to the patriotic emulation movement among Catholics in the past year.
At the same time, it is hoped that the Catholic Solidarity Committees at all levels will continue to play the role of "bridge", coordinate well with the team of dignitaries and officials to widely mobilize the Catholic community to enthusiastically compete in labor production; actively respond to the campaigns "all people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", "live a good life, be good at religion"; well implement the Government's Ordinance and Decree on religious activities, the policy of great national solidarity, together towards the goal of a rich people, a strong country, a fair, democratic and civilized society.
