16 ancient trees in Yen Thanh recognized as historical and cultural heritage
(Baonghean.vn)- 1000-year-old banyan, 800-year-old teak, 500-year-old green lim, 200-year-old rice... in the rice homeland of Yen Thanh have just been recognized as historical and cultural heritage.
On the morning of November 24, at Ly Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district People's Committee held a ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition as Vietnamese historical and cultural relic trees for 16 ancient trees in the district.

16 heritage trees were recognized, including: an over 800-year-old ebony tree and a nearly 1,000-year-old banyan tree (Ly Thanh commune); a banyan tree in Lang market (Tay Thanh commune); a banyan tree in Dinh hamlet (My Thanh); a nearly 500-year-old lim tree in Hoa Thanh commune; a 200-year-old kapok tree in Gam Pagoda (Xuan Thanh); a group of 10 ancient trees including a sanh tree, a banyan tree and a lim tree in Duc Hoang temple (Phuc Thanh). Each tree is a historical relic associated with the formation and development of a land.

The event that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Ornamental Plants Association recognized 16 ancient trees in Yen Thanh district as national historical and cultural relics has further demonstrated the cultural and historical traditions of the rice-growing homeland; is the honor and pride of the Party Committee and people of Yen Thanh district, contributing to encouraging people to make efforts to preserve, protect and promote the value of heritage.
