174 projects participated in the provincial science and technology competition for high school students

On the morning of December 20, the Department of Education and Training held the opening ceremony of the provincial science and technology competition for high school students for the 2020-2021 school year.

Through school and district level competitions, this year's Science and Technology Competition has 174 projects of 325 secondary and high school students from 21 Departments of Education and Training and 67 high schools of Nghe An province in 15 fields: System software, Embedded systems, Robots and intelligent machines, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Social and behavioral sciences, Computer science, Electrical and mechanical engineering, Energy and transportation, Environmental engineering, Materials science, Physics and astronomy, Biomedical and health sciences, Plant science...

The 2020-2021 school year is the 8th year Nghe An has organized the provincial science and technology competition. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh congratulated the authors and projects participating in this year's competition. This is the result of efforts and attempts, affirming that the scientific research innovation movement has been widely replicated in schools and received the participation and response of a large number of students throughout the province.

However, as a science and technology competition for high school students, the Organizing Committee does not expect many projects with excellent ideas, but more importantly, through this competition, it has created for students an approach to thinking and encouraged the scientific research movement in schools.

In addition, the implementation of the contest will encourage the movement of innovative teaching methods in schools, which is "teaching students what to do and knowing how to apply theoretical knowledge into practice. Step by step teaching them to implement projects and from there they will master knowledge and skills when entering the threshold of science. At the same time, step by step following a new, modern approach, adapting to the era of technology 4.0".

For the contest to be successful, the Director of the Department of Education and Training also requested the Jury to judge the contest fairly, paying attention to projects that are small but real and have practical meaning to life.

The success of the competition will also contribute to spreading the scientific research movement, gradually helping to spread global skills such as Foreign Languages, Information Technology, STEM to students and demonstrating the desire to succeed of Nghe An students. From there, fostering the desire to do scientific research and start a business in the future.

This year's competition will take place over 3 days. From this competition, the Jury will select the 2 best projects to participate in the National Science and Technology Competition held in March 2021 in Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province.
