2 students found 8 million VND and returned it to the owner.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, March 20, on the way from home to the People's Committee of Dong Thanh commune to prepare for the graduation exam, two students of Yen Thanh 2 High School, Nguyen Thi Van and Duong Thi Binh, residing in Dong Xuan hamlet, Dong Thanh commune (Yen Thanh), saw a young man riding a motorbike very fast on the road.

When the young man was passing through Dong Xuan hamlet, his wallet accidentally fell out of his back pocket. Because the wallet was not zipped up, the 8,698,000 VND in the wallet fell out onto the street. Seeing this, Van and Binh called out loudly, but because they were in a hurry and the car was going fast, the young man did not hear.

The two students quickly got out of the car, picked up the money and wallet, then discussed going to Dong Thanh commune police to ask the police to find and return the wallet to its owner.

Duong Thi Binh said: "When Van and I were walking on the street, we saw a wallet that a young man on a motorbike had dropped, but they didn’t know. We thought that the money was probably important to that person, and our teachers had taught us that if we found something lost, we had to find the person who had lost it and return it. So Van and I took it to the commune police station in the hope that they would find the person who lost it and return it.

Receiving the full amount of money and wallet from the Dong Thanh commune police station, Mr. Nguyen Van Giap of Dong Thanh hamlet, Quang Thanh commune was very surprised and emotional, because he was sure he would never find it again.

Mr. Nguyen Van Giap said: "When I went from my house in Quang Thanh to Yen Thanh town, I dropped my wallet. I didn’t know where I dropped it, then the Dong Thanh commune police reported that two students, Duong Thi Binh and Nguyen Thi Van, students at Yen Thanh 2 School, had picked up the wallet. I also went up and got all the money in the wallet back. I am very grateful to the two students and the commune police for contacting me to get all the money and the wallet back.”

It is known that Van and Binh's family circumstances are not well off, their families have many children, both parents have to work as factory workers or traders to support the family. Although their family life is difficult, they always try to excel in their studies and are always good. Their work has been highly appreciated by the school.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Principal of Yen Thanh 2 High School said: "Next Monday morning, the school will hold a flag-raising ceremony and honor the two students who have done well. This is an action that needs to be replicated, and the school will launch a movement to help students be loving and not covet other people's possessions, creating a healthy lifestyle for them. The school will have awards and certificates for the two students who picked up lost property and returned it to the owner.
