2 senior Italian leaders test positive for Covid-19
Italy has just confirmed that the leader of the second region has tested positive for the virus that causes Covid-19.
The governor of Italy's Piedmont region, Alberto Cirio, tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on March 8, becoming the second regional leader to be confirmed infected within 24 hours.

Peidmonte, with its capital Turin, is the fourth region to be hit hard by the Covid-19 outbreak that began in Italy in February. Earlier yesterday, Lazio governor Nicola Zingaretti also tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Italy is one of the major outbreaks of Covid-19 after mainland China.
