Two Vietnam Airlines Boeing planes had engine failure due to bird strikes.
On the evening of October 2, two wide-body aircraft, a Boeing 787 and a Boeing 777, had their engines hit by birds while landing at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports.
According to a representative of Vietnam Airlines, after the bird strike caused engine damage, the airline stopped operating two planes for repairs, affecting a number of domestic and international flights on the evening of October 2 and October 3.

Vietnam Airlines representative confirmed that they have deployed service plans to minimize impact on passengers.
Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and Boeing 777 are known as “mobile 5-star hotels”, specializing in transporting passengers on long-haul and transcontinental flights. The aircraft can carry from 301 to 368 passengers in 3 classes: business, premium business and economy, with a range of 9,650 to 17,450 km.
Recently, many aircraft have collided with birds, causing unsafe conditions. At many meetings, leaders of the Civil Aviation Authority admitted that many foreign bird repelling devices used at Vietnamese airports are ineffective. The Airport Corporation has proposed a project to detect strange objects on runways with a budget of more than 1,160 billion VND..
