2 people injured after criticizing bad singing at a party
(Baonghean.vn) - Seeing his friend being surrounded and beaten by a group of young men from another neighborhood at a party, Giang rushed in and stabbed them repeatedly, causing one person to die and another to suffer 70% health damage.
On December 26, the People's Court of Nghe An province brought defendant Nguyen Van Giang (born 2000, residing in hamlet 10B, Nghia An commune, Nghia Dan district) and his accomplices to the first instance trial for the crimes of "Murder" and "Disturbing public order".
According to the indictment, at around 9:00 p.m. on February 25, 2018, Nguyen Van Giang, Nguyen Quang Truong (born in 1999), Nguyen Hong Long (born in 2000), and Vu Van Truong (born in 1999), all residing in Nghia An commune, Nghia Dan district, went to a party at Mr. Vo Van Nam's house in hamlet 3, Nghia An commune.

At the party, Quang Truong took out his phone to put on music and dance, then Vo Van Truong (resident of hamlet 3, Nghia An commune) said"If you can't sing, then get lost."and threaten"slap a few slaps"When Quang Truong went out the gate, he was surrounded by Van Truong, Vo Van Truyen (born 1996), and Vo Van Luu (born 1992).
Seeing his friend being beaten, Nguyen Hong Long and Nguyen Van Giang jumped in to protect him. During the fight, Nguyen Van Giang took out a knife he had hidden on his person and stabbed Truyen in the stomach.
Liu quickly grabbed a chair and rushed to hit Giang, but Giang stabbed him in the stomach and then ran away.
Vo Van Truyen was taken to the emergency room but died on the way due to severe injuries. Vo Van Luu suffered 70% health damage.
Nguyen Van Giang, Nguyen Hong Long and Vu Van Truong then went to Nghia Dan District Police to surrender and declare all their actions.
The panel of judges determined that Nguyen Van Giang’s actions were particularly dangerous to society and required strict punishment under the law. However, based on mitigating circumstances such as the defendant’s honest confession, good character, no criminal record, and the family’s partial redress of the victim’s consequences, Nguyen Van Giang was sentenced to 18 years in prison and ordered to compensate the victim nearly 200 million VND.
Vo Van Truong was sentenced to 6 months in prison. The defendants Vo Hong Son, Vu Van Truong, and Nguyen Hong Long were sentenced to 4 months in prison but given suspended sentences.
