Using the trick of connecting and communicating by phone and social networks, after contacting subjects in Vietnam, the "boss" in Laos will have his henchmen gather drugs in the mountainous areas of Laos bordering Vietnam, then use forces to cut through the forest to bring them across the border for trading.

During the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, knowing that the authorities were strictly controlling the Vietnam-Laos border, they risked their lives to open new roads through forests and mountains in order to transport drugs successfully.

The members of the task force, as assigned, have been closely following the mountainous areas of Western Nghe An for many months to collect documents and information about the suspects in this drug ring. Thereby, the task force discovered two suspects: Ho Ba Sua (born in 1989), residing in Tien Tieu village, Nam Can commune, (Ky Son); and Ba Ha (born in 1993), residing in Nhot Kho village, Bac Ly commune (Ky Son) with many suspicious signs related to the drug ring run by the "boss" in Laos.

After a period of investigation, on May 27, from information that the subjects were preparing to carry out a new transaction, the Special Investigation Committee reported to the provincial police leadership to propose a plan to solve the case.

According to the direction, the Task Force was divided into 5 groups, coordinating with the Border Guard and Customs forces to patrol and ambush the mountainous border area with Laos, blocking the area at Nam Can International Border Gate, and moving on National Highway 7A along the areas of Ky Son and Tuong Duong districts, Nghe An province with the goal of not letting this subject escape.

On the morning of June 1, 2021, the border reconnaissance team discovered a group of suspicious individuals across the Vietnam-Laos border trying to cut through the forest to cross into Vietnam.

At 6 p.m. the same day, the group of subjects who had cut through the forest appeared on National Highway 7A in Ky Son district. At this time, the Task Force clearly identified the suspects in the transnational drug ring driving a motorbike at high speed in the direction of National Highway 7A to go downstream. The subjects leisurely drove the vehicle carrying the "goods" to the area of Tuong Duong District Medical Center and stopped as if waiting for someone.

All their movements were under the surveillance of the Task Force.

At about 9:15 p.m. on June 1, 2021, the working groups quickly approached and surrounded the group of subjects in the Hoa Dong block area, Thach Giam town, Tuong Duong district. Caught red-handed two subjects Ho Ba Sua (born in 1989), residing in Tien Tieu village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, and Ba Ha (born in 1993), residing in Nhot Kho village, Bac Ly commune, Ky Son district, confiscated 6 kg of crystal meth, motorbikes, and 2 cell phones.

During the arrest, the subjects fought back fiercely in an attempt to destroy evidence and escape.

It is known that this is the first project of Nghe An Provincial Police in the campaign to fight against drugs. Currently, Nghe An Provincial Police are continuing to fight and expand the project.
