2 general directors compete for the position of General Director

According to the latest decision just signed by Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang, the list of candidates for the position of Director General of the Vietnam Road Administration includes 4 candidates.

The youngest candidate is Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, 44 years old, from Ha Nam, currently Deputy Director General of the General Department of Roads. Mr. Cuong has a Master's degree in Economics and is a road bridge engineer.

The oldest person is Mr. Pham Hong Son, 54 years old, from Quang Ngai, General Director of Project Management Board 2. Qualification: road engineer.

The remaining two candidates are Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Transport Nguyen Van Huyen, 52 years old, from Nam Dinh, with a master's degree in Business Administration, construction machinery engineer, and General Director of the Transport Design Consulting Corporation Pham Huu Son, 53 years old, from Ninh Binh, with a master's degree in Engineering, bridge engineer.

At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Transport earlier this month, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hong Truong said: "Four candidates is a large number. The Ministry of Transport believes it will select a worthy candidate to be the Director General of the General Department of Roads."

According to Mr. Truong, the jury will consist of 15 people, headed by a deputy minister.

The recruitment exam is considered a new mechanism in the organization of personnel in the transport sector.

Except for the deputy minister level appointed by the Government, the Ministry of Transport will soon recruit all positions in the industry.

It is known that after the position of Director General of the General Department of Roads, the Ministry of Transport will organize an exam to recruit the position of Director of the Department of Transport.

Last month, the Ministry of Justice held its first ever selection exam for the position of Deputy Director of the Judicial Academy, with only two candidates participating. The successful candidate was Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thu, 41 years old, Deputy Head of the Ministry's Office Secretariat.
