200 delegates attended the National Scientific Conference on Ichthyology held in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - The conference was held with the aim of joining hands to develop a key agricultural sector of the country, contributing to the goal of building an advanced and modern Vietnamese agriculture.
On the morning of December 25, the Vietnam Ichthyology Association coordinated withVinh UniversityOrganize the 2nd National Scientific Conference on Ichthyology.

The conference was chaired by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Huan - former Head of the Biology Department, University of Natural Sciences - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Chairman of the Vietnam Ichthyology Association; Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huy Bang - Rector of Vinh University; Mr. Tran Quoc Thanh - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Nghe An. Also attending were representatives of the leaders of the Departments and Centers under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.Department of Science & Technologyof the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh.
The conference also attracted more than 200 delegates attending online and offline at 15 domestic and international locations in many different fields of activity related to Ichthyology.

The Vietnam Ichthyology Association was established under Decision No. 03/2018/QD-CNSH dated March 18, 2018 of the President of the Vietnam Association of Biology. Thereby, it aims to connect scientists, managers and people working in the field of Ichthyology with the desire to develop Ichthyology in Vietnam to be stronger, contributing to the cause of socio-economic development of the country.
With the above meaning, this National Scientific Conference on Ichthyology also gathered many scientists and managers with many presentations revolving around issues such as biodiversity conservation.freshwater fish, coral reef fish of Truong Sa archipelago, ecosystem services from research on inland fish in Vietnam... Besides, there were a number of presentations by international researchers and scientists from Japan, Taiwan... also mentioned many issues surrounding the conservation and development of aquatic resources.
Vietnam is a coastal country with over 1 million km2Exclusive economic zone with a coastline of over 3,200 km, over 14 geographical latitudes with a dense river system, giving our country extremely diverse and rich marine, coastal and inland ecosystems, bringing high biodiversity values as well as aquatic resources in general and fish resources in particular.
