(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27) and the 61st anniversary of Agent Orange Disaster Day in Vietnam (August 10), on the morning of May 28, the Nghe An Province Association of Agent Orange Victims coordinated with Military Hospital 4 to organize free medical examination and treatment for Agent Orange victims.

At the program, doctors conducted clinical examinations (Internal, External, Eye, Ear - Nose - Throat, Dentistry - Maxillofacial, Neuropsychiatry) and paraclinical examinations, electrocardiograms, electroencephalograms when indicated, chest X-rays, blood tests... for members.

During the examination, the doctors prescribed and provided free medicine for some common diseases; advised on nutrition and self-care for some common diseases. In addition, they also referred serious cases to higher-level treatment.

Mr. Hoang Dang Hoe - Vice President of the Association of Agent Orange Victims of Nghe An province said: "In addition to the policies of the Party and the State, Agent Orange victims need the sharing and love of the whole society. For that reason, the medical examination and treatment program is organized annually to promptly detect and treat diseases for Agent Orange victims in difficult circumstances, thereby helping them have the strength to rise up in life."

In addition to supporting medical examination and medicine costs, members participating in the program will also receive financial support for transportation and meals from the Provincial People's Committee. The medical examination and treatment program for Agent Orange victims in Nghe An province will take place over 2 days (May 28 and 29, 2022); it is expected that 200 members of the Association of Agent Orange Victims will be examined, treated and given medicine.
