In Tien Giang province, at Cai Lay Regional General Hospital, more than 66 children under five years old had to be hospitalized after receiving the 5-in-1 vaccine due to many adverse signs after the injection. The hospitalized children had symptoms of fever, some severe cases had to be transferred to Tien Giang Provincial General Hospital for further monitoring of meningitis. Currently, some cases have stabilized after taking medication and have been discharged from the hospital.
Doctor Nguyen Van Nguu, Director of Cai Lay Regional General Hospital, said that this is a common immune reaction after vaccination, and is not unusual. The hospital has treated several similar cases.
Doctors recommend that parents monitor their children's health after vaccination. If there are any unusual symptoms, they must take them to a medical facility for examination and treatment.
