224 candidates participate in the 19th National Youth Informatics Contest
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of August 1 in Vinh City, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union coordinated with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Ministry of Education and Training to organize the opening ceremony of the 19th National Youth Informatics Competition.
Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The contest has 224 contestants from 51 provinces and cities and the police sector, including 7 contestants from ethnic minorities. The contestants will compete in 3 levels: Primary school (group A) with 54 contestants, Secondary school (group B) 54 contestants and High school (group C) 89 contestants; with a structure of 36 prizes for the general competition and 15 prizes for the creative software competition.
This year, the quality of candidates participating in the grassroots competition has been improved. Many provinces, cities and sectors have organized the district, county and cluster level competitions very well. For example, Ho Chi Minh City has 547 candidates from 23 districts participating, selected from 5,000 candidates in the district and county level competition and 1,200 candidates participating in the online preliminary round.
Nghe An has 6 contestants participating in 3 levels of education in this year's National Youth Informatics Final Competition.
With the theme of the game “Bi Confrontation”, this year’s exam focuses on assessing practical skills, not heavy and spread out on theory.” The final round is organized in a theatrical form with a knockout match between teams. For the creative software competition, most of the content is practical to life, with 107 software from 24 provinces.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed:Information technology is the main connecting axis and a decisive factor contributing to the successful implementation of 3 strategic breakthroughs: Perfecting institutions, developing human resources, building synchronous infrastructure associated with restructuring the economy and transforming the growth model. Nghe An is honored to be the host of the contest, hoping to leave many good impressions in the hearts of delegates and contestants. He also hopes that the contestants will achieve the best results and bring the most useful and practical application software.

The National Youth Informatics Competition in recent years has helped build and form a widespread movement of youth and children studying and mastering IT throughout the country. The organization of the annual competition shows the deep concern of all levels and sectors, especially the Youth Union, creating a practical and useful playground for youth and children, and at the same time, it is the basis for making proposals and recommendations to train and foster young human resources in IT.
