224 contestants participated in the 19th National Youth Informatics Competition.
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of August 1st in Vinh City, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, in coordination with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Ministry of Education and Training, organized the opening ceremony of the 19th National Youth Informatics Competition.
Attending the opening ceremony were: Nguyen Dac Vinh - First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; and Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The competition attracted 224 contestants from 51 provinces, cities, and police forces, including 7 contestants from ethnic minority groups. The contestants competed across three educational levels: Primary School (Category A) with 54 contestants, Junior High School (Category B) with 54 contestants, and High School (Category C) with 89 contestants; with 36 prizes awarded for the general competition and 15 prizes for the creative software competition.
This year, the quality of contestants participating in the grassroots-level competition has improved, with many provinces, cities, and sectors organizing the district-level and cluster-level competitions very well. For example, Ho Chi Minh City had 547 contestants from 23 districts participating, selected from 5,000 contestants in the district-level rounds and 1,200 contestants in the online preliminary round.
Nghe An province has 6 contestants participating across 3 educational levels in this year's National Young Informatics Competition Finals.
With the theme of the competition being the game "Ball vs. Ball," this year's exam focused on assessing practical skills, not on heavy or extensive theoretical content. The final round was held in a theatrical format with direct elimination between the teams. For the creative software competition, most of the content was practical and relevant to life, with 107 software entries from 24 provinces.
Contestants also get to participate in outdoor programs such as: visiting President Ho Chi Minh's birthplace, and engaging in exchange activities between different groups...

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the competition, Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed:Information technology is the main connecting axis and a decisive factor contributing to the successful implementation of the three strategic breakthroughs: perfecting institutions, developing human resources, and building synchronous infrastructure associated with restructuring the economy and transforming the growth model. Nghe An is honored to host the competition and hopes to leave many positive impressions on the delegates and contestants. The comrade also hopes that the contestants will achieve the best results and present the most useful and practical software applications.

Over the years, the National Youth Informatics Competition has helped build and develop a widespread movement among young people to learn and master information technology throughout the country. The annual organization of the competition demonstrates the deep concern of all levels and sectors, especially the Youth Union, creating a practical and beneficial playground for young people, and also serving as a basis for making proposals and recommendations for training and developing young human resources in information technology.
