25 people were elected to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province.

The report at the Congress highlighted the achievements of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province in the 2014 - 2019 term. As a socio-political organization with the task of people's foreign affairs, the Association has regularly and proactively improved the quality of work, information, propaganda, and promotion of the traditional solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two States and peoples of Vietnam and Russia.

Propaganda activities through forms such as friendship exchanges, publishing the book "Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association: Formation and Development Process"; propaganda on newspapers, radio, Bach Duong Magazine...

One of the special advantages of the Association is the close connection between Nghe An - the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh and Ulianov province - the homeland of leader VI Lenin through the Vietnamese Association of Ulianov province and the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province. From there, many people-to-people diplomacy programs have been created, promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam in general, and Nghe An province in particular.

The Association has innovated and created content and methods of operation to improve the quality of activities in the new period, especially actively maintaining people-to-people foreign affairs activities. Since 2014, the Association has successfully organized 5 times to welcome Nghe An compatriots in the Russian Federation to return home to celebrate the traditional New Year.

More than 5 billion VND has been donated by organizations and individuals to send back to the country through various channels to promptly encourage soldiers at the border and islands, support people in disaster-hit areas in Nghe An and Ha Tinh, and support many communes in Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, Yen Thanh, Thanh Chuong districts... in the new rural construction movement. Notably, the Vietnamese community organization in Moscow, Voronezh, Saint Petersburg...

Up to now, the Association has attracted over 500 members, organized activities in 12 Vietnamese - Russian branches throughout the province.

The Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister for its excellent performance in contributing to the construction and protection of the Fatherland.

The Association was twice awarded the Emulation Flag and Certificate of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee.

During the 2019 - 2024 term, the Association's goal is to further enhance the proactiveness, creativity and innovation in building action plans to improve the quality of the Association's activities; especially information and propaganda work, promoting the solidarity and traditional friendship between Vietnam and Russia, playing a good advisory and bridging role to build economic and trade cooperation projects, attracting Vietnamese and Russian businesses and entrepreneurs with potential to invest in economic, service and trade projects.

The Congress elected 25 members to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province for the 2019 - 2024 term, including 1 Chairman and 5 Vice Chairmen. Mr. Nguyen Canh Phu was elected to continue holding the position of Chairman of the Association.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 1 individual with positive contributions to people-to-people diplomacy activities in the 2014-2019 term; the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Russia Association awarded 3 Certificates of Merit to individuals with outstanding achievements; the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 1 collective and 2 individuals with achievements in the Association's work.
