25 hamlets and villages in Western Nghe An do community tourism
Western Nghe An is an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists thanks to the development of eco-tourism and community tourism models. Currently, in Nghe An, there are 25 hamlets and villages doing community tourism, with 69 homestays.
This year, Con Cuong district has 2 more community tourism villages.
With diverse terrain including mountains, forests, caves, waterfalls, streams, lakes and villages of the Thai, Mong, Kho Mu ethnic groups, Western Nghe An has great potential for cultural tourism and community tourism. In particular, Con Cuong and Tuong Duong districts located in Pu Mat National Park are important highlights.

At homestays in Yen Khe and Bong Khe communes (Con Cuong), visitors can experience the daily life of the Thai ethnic people, from sleeping in stilt houses, enjoying traditional cuisine to participating in agricultural production activities such as rice planting, fishing, and tea picking, giving visitors the most authentic experiences.

Ms. Vi Thi Phuong Thao - Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Con Cuong district said: This year, the new point of the locality is that in addition to the 2 community tourism spots in Khe Ran village (Bong Khe) and Nua village (Yen Khe), in Con Cuong district, there are 2 more community tourism villages, namely Nam Son (Mon Son) and Bai Gao (Chau Khe), each village has 3 homestays. In addition, the homestay spots will be supported to invest in additional landscape decoration with the mindset of serving customers more professionally.
Currently, in Nghe An, there are 25 community tourism hamlets and villages, with 69 homestays. Specifically: Ky Son district has 2 hamlets, with 6 homestays; Tuong Duong district has 3 hamlets, 8 homestays; Con Cuong district has 4 hamlets, 13 homestays; Tan Ky district has 2 hamlets, 4 homestays; Que Phong district has 2 hamlets, 7 homestays; Quy Chau district has 2 hamlets, 9 homestays; Quy Hop district has 2 hamlets, 6 homestays; Anh Son district has 3 hamlets, 6 homestays; Nam Dan district has 1 hamlet, 3 homestays; Thanh Chuong district has 3 hamlets, 6 homestays; Do Luong district has 1 hamlet, 1 homestay.
Khe Kem Waterfall - one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Vietnam
About 25 km from Con Cuong town, Khe Kem waterfall is considered one of the most pristine and beautiful waterfalls in Vietnam. With a height of more than 500m, the waterfall flows white in the middle of the mountains and forests, creating a majestic and poetic scene. Ecotourism - Highlight of Western Nghe An
Ecotourism, also known as "green tourism", is a type of tourism that is developing strongly in Western Nghe An thanks to the richness of the primeval forest ecosystem, natural waterfalls and diverse flora and fauna.
Pu Mat National Park with an area of over 94,750 hectares is one of the important destinations in the journey to explore Western Nghe An. This place is not only the "heart" of the World Biosphere Reserve but also a place to preserve many rare species of animals and plants. In the buffer zone of this national park, there are many unique landmarks such as Tra Lan citadel, Ma Nhai stele, Van temple... attracting the attention of tourists.

In addition, Pha Lai Eco-tourism Area (Mon Son Commune, Con Cuong District) is also an attractive destination with charming river and mountain scenery. In particular, the experience of boating on the clear Giang River, winding through the majestic mountains will bring a sense of relaxation and peace. Coming to Con Cuong District, visitors cannot miss Khe Nuoc Moc in Yen Khe Commune, which is also a popular destination for many visitors.
Continuing the journey to Tuong Duong district, visitors will admire the Tam Dinh cassia forest - a population of cassia trees hundreds of years old, known as the most beautiful forest in Indochina, incredibly beautiful. This cassia forest is 70 hectares wide, a source of pride, a notable tourist destination in the Western region of Nghe An.

Currently, Tam Dinh cassia forest has become an important tourist attraction, a premise for developing green tourism for Tuong Duong district in particular and Nghe An province in general. Not only Tam Dinh mangrove forest, Tuong Duong district is also known for some mangrove forests, which are forming eco-tourism spots.
Mr. Dang Van Vien - Chairman of Yen Hoa Commune People's Committee said that currently, in the commune, there are many well-protected cassia forests, especially the two most beautiful forests. Under some cassia forests that are not favorable for tourism development, the locality has planted medicinal plants, creating products to serve the needs of tourists when coming to the locality.

With the cajuput forest on the main road of the commune, the locality has long created an attractive tourist destination, with check-in points created by local people, attracting many tourists to visit and enjoy local cuisine prepared right under the forest canopy.
Developing ecotourism in the direction of “green tourism” has been focused on by some communes of Tuong Duong district in recent years. Among them, the border commune of Tam Quang is a destination known to many tourists with the ecotourism destination of Nam Xan.
