On January 17th, the Quang Ninh Provincial Civil Enforcement Department, in coordination with relevant agencies, organized the destruction of 260 blocks of heroin weighing 70kg, which were evidence in the case of Suliyavong Sakhone (Lao nationality) and his accomplices for the crime of illegally transporting narcotics.

The 260 blocks of heroin involved in the case, still sealed, were destroyed by complete incineration.

Earlier, on August 3, 2016, on National Highway 18, near Deo But Pass, Quang Hanh Ward (Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh Province), police discovered and apprehended Suliyavong Sakhone and his accomplices (one Lao national and three Vietnamese nationals) using a Lao-registered vehicle to illegally transport 200 blocks of heroin from Laos through Vietnam to China for sale.

The drugs were hidden in a compartment under the floor of the vehicle. Police also seized a gun and 100 rounds of ammunition.
