3 Chinese Navy warships visit Cam Ranh port

Two missile frigates and escort ships carrying 750 officers and sailors of the Chinese Navy will visit and exchange with the Vietnamese Navy from October 22-26.

On October 19, the Khanh Hoa Department of Foreign Affairs announced that two missile frigates and a Chinese Navy escort ship will visit Cam Ranh International Port (Khanh Hoa) for 4 days, from October 22 to 26.

The total number of officers and crew is 750 people, led by Chief of Staff of the East Sea Fleet (China) - Vuong Hong Ly.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, this is the first visit of the Chinese Navy to Cam Ranh International Port. During the 4-day visit, the delegation paid courtesy calls to the leaders of Khanh Hoa and Naval Region 4 and invited them to tour the ship.

During the remaining time, the crew will have exchange activities with the Vietnam Navy and visit scenic spots in Nha Trang City.

Cam Ranh International Port, with an investment of 2,000 billion VND, allows ships to anchor in storm conditions of level 8, can receive aircraft with a capacity of 110,000 tons, and was put into operation in March.

Recently, the US Navy destroyer USS John S. McCaine and the supply ship USS Frank Cable arrived in Cam Ranh, after a three-day port call at Da Nang. The visit of the two US warships took place in the context of the US and Vietnam celebrating the 21st anniversary of normalized diplomatic relations.
