3 Vietnamese startups entered the semi-finals of the World Global Initiative
(Baonghean.vn) - For the first time, 3 Vietnamese startups have entered the semi-finals of the Global Innovation Competition (GIST Tech-I 2016) - a competition for technology startups with high community value initiated by the US government. Currently, 3 Vietnamese startups have entered the semi-finals with 102 projects (total number of participating projects is 1075) and have the opportunity to enter the finals if they make it into the top 30.
Fundy
Fundy is a project that calls for capital from the community and connects the media, sponsors with social activities. Fundy is full of humanity as it helps social activities become effective because it connects with capital from the community and businesses.
Fundy quickly won second prize in the “Startup Idea” contest organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam at the end of 2015. Since then, the project has attracted many sources of funding from domestic and international investors.
Success continued when Fundy entered the top 30 Startup Pedia Asean 2016 and the top 8% of MIT's Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp 2016.
Monkey Junior
Monkey Junior is a comprehensive educational program developed by leading experts in the world. This application will help children have early access to education, the ability to learn to read and learn foreign languages before going to school. The founder of Monkey Junior is Dao Xuan Hoang, an Industrial Engineer who graduated from the University of Technology Sydney with an Australian government scholarship.

Monkey Junior is available on both the App Store and Google Play, and can be easily downloaded on your smartphone or tablet. Monkey Junior is in the top 100 most downloaded educational apps in many countries, including the US, Canada, and Vietnam. It is also in the top 18 best IT products at the 2015 Vietnam Talent Awards.
Monkey Junior's content development team consists of foreign teachers, while the technical, communications, and customer service teams are Vietnamese. Monkey Junior's goal in 2016 is to be in the top 30 most downloaded apps in the US and top 10 in Vietnam.
MediFree
MediFree is a channel that connects people in need of medical equipment and those willing to donate. This startup was founded by Do Anh Thong. There are many places that have surplus medical equipment or tools while many other places lack these necessary items. MediFree will be the place to receive surplus medical equipment and contact the recipients.
In the future, MediFree plans to grow further as the subject goes beyond medical devices and within the legal framework.
Thanh Hien
