Newly released figures show the following luxury car brands will lose the most value by 2022.

Jaguar

Jaguar has topped MotorTrend's new list of the most depreciated car brands in 2022.

Luxury car Jaguar F Type.

MotorTrend and IntelliChoice found that a Jaguar retains just 45.3% of its value after five years. The market average is 47.6%.

Even the Jaguar F-Type Convertible with the 2.0L turbo engine has the lowest expected resale value after 5 years at 43.3%. After 5 years, the Jaguar F-Pace SVR only retains 46.2% of its original value.

Lincoln

Next on the list is Lincoln. This year, the automaker tightened its lineup and eliminated all sedans. Its lineup is limited to SUVs, like the Navigator L, which are expected to retain just 41.4 percent of their original value. That’s not a great return on investment for consumers.

Lincoln Navigator L.

The Corsair SUV alone is expected to retain 45% of its value. The smaller Lincoln Aviator PHEV is expected to retain 45.8%. Lincoln has gone through a lot of changes with the elimination of its vehicle lineup, so hopefully the luxury brand will come back stronger.

Genesis

Genesis has been getting a lot of praise since its launch with the GV70 SUV. It actually won MotorTrend's Best SUV of the Year award this year, but that doesn't excuse its terrible resale value.

Genesis G70.

After five years, most Genesis models are worth between 40% and 45% of their original value. After five years, the G90 sedan retains just 35.3% of its original value. The G90 Premium retains just 35.4% of its original value.

In addition to the three car brands mentioned above, Infiniti also only retained 42.6% of its value after 5 years. For example, the Q60 sports coupe and Q50 sedan are the two models with the highest sales rates, 39.2% and 40.7% respectively.

Cadillac and Alfa Romeo are other brands that fall below the industry average in resale value.
