The “3-bang” training includes: shooting an AK submachine gun, using explosives, and throwing grenades. These are basic and very important skills in training new recruits as well as the entire process of practicing military operations later on.
"Super Warrior"
For Lo Van Cuong, after finishing the "3 explosions" practice, Cuong not only achieved extremely impressive results after 5 rounds of shooting AK submachine guns, but also achieved excellent results in both the explosive shooting and grenade throwing exercises.
After witnessing Lo Van Cuong's practice, many soldiers in the unit praised Cuong as a good shooter, some even jokingly called Cuong a "super" soldier. There are many people who are good at shooting, but it is very rare to find someone who is good at all shooting series like this young man from the mountains and forests.
Talking about the secret to good shooting, Cuong smiled and said: “I was quite surprised by this result. When I was at home, I used a flintlock gun to shoot birds and hunt wild rats a few times. When I returned to the unit, I learned basic aiming skills, how to balance the gun, and how to hold my breath when pulling the trigger… I think all success comes from hard work, talent is only a part. During the learning process, I was always diligent, cherished every line of sight, and took advantage of every moment to review. The commander said that if I practice really well, I will contribute to protecting my homeland and country."

The officers and soldiers of Company 12 also said that during his studies and work, Lo Van Cuong was a diligent and hard-working person, especially the new Khmu recruit who was very inquisitive and eager to learn. Every time he went to class, Cuong had the habit of taking very careful and detailed notes. He knew how to skillfully apply theory and practice. Not only was Cuong good at shooting, but he was also good at military, politics, logistics and engineering.

The dutiful boy
As a member of the Kho Mu ethnic group, Lo Van Cuong's hometown is Pa Ka village, Nam Can commune, Ky Son district. Enlisted at the beginning of this year, but after only a short period of training, Cuong quickly adapted to the military environment, he lived happily, got along with his fellow soldiers, and actively participated in the unit's activities. What is admirable about this honest young soldier is that after 3 months of training, Cuong saved nearly 2 million VND to send home to his family.

When asked about his plans, Cuong said: "Currently, I was selected for the shooting team of Regiment 1, and am practicing to be selected for the Division and Military Region 4 teams. I always try my best."
Saying goodbye to Lo Van Cuong, I was not only happy with the new recruit's training achievements but also impressed by the gentle, simple smile of the young man from the mountains of Western Nghe An. I wish him to reap even greater achievements, contributing to building a strong unit, firmly protecting the peace and independence of his homeland and country.
