The entire Vinh city currently has 242 hectares of trees, of which Quyet Mountain Park has 50 hectares, Hung Hoa mangrove forest 55 hectares, trees on the streets 60 hectares, in agencies, units, schools nearly 40 hectares... In addition, it is impossible to count the tens of thousands of trees planted by people themselves in their places of residence, residential areas or in many agencies and units.

According to statistics from Vinh City Park Green Tree Joint Stock Company, there are still about 15,000 parasol trees in this urban area, accounting for 30% of the total number of large trees in the city. "Parasol trees are brittle, easily broken, have many thorns, and often lose their leaves. Their lifespan is only over 20 years," said an official of the above company.

According to the city’s planning, 40 main roads of Vinh will be identified by specialized and unique tree species. The shape of these “tree routes” can be seen on Ho Tung Mau street with its lush green mango rows, Truong Thi street with its straight rows of cajuput trees, or Le Nin street with its black star tree with leaves as shiny as grease…

Recently, after a series of cases of students being poisoned by eating parasol seeds, the Ministry of Health has issued a document requesting the removal of some poisonous plants such as parasols, oleander, and aconite from schools. The Nghe An Department of Education and Training has also requested schools to cut down all parasol trees in school grounds.
