(Baonghean)On the morning of April 19th, the People's Court of Nghe An province sentenced Phan Ba Cuong (born in 1977) and Le Thanh Phuc (born in 1980), both residing in Khanh Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district), to 15 years in prison each for illegally trading narcotics.

The indictment states that Phan Bá Cường and Lê Thanh Phúc pooled their capital of 16 million VND to engage in drug trafficking for profit. On the evening of December 27, 2011, Phúc took a car to Lượng Minh commune (Tương Dương district) to purchase a block of heroin for 16 million VND. After hiding the heroin in a sock and bringing it back to Cường's house, Phúc told Cường to buy a packet of candy, put the heroin inside, seal it, and hide it on the altar to avoid detection. Around 7:00 AM on December 28, 2011, after receiving a phone order from a customer, the two brought the heroin to Mr. Hậu's house in Hamlet 10, Bảo Thành commune (Yên Thành district) for delivery. While the two were exchanging the drugs, a task force from the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department of the Nghệ An Provincial Police, in coordination with the Special Task Force No. 2 of the Vietnam Coast Guard, raided the house and caught them red-handed, seizing nearly 40 grams of heroin.
