300 Nghe An students volunteer to go to poor villages in the highlands
(Baonghean.vn) - At the Launching Ceremony of the 2022 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign, more than 300 union members and young volunteers from universities and colleges in the province set out for poor mountainous villages of the province with the goal of bringing youth to implement meaningful programs and activities during the peak month of the Green Summer campaign.
On the morning of July 5, at Ho Chi Minh Square, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, the Provincial Youth Union Secretariat, and the Provincial Student Association Secretariat held the launching ceremony of the Green Summer Volunteer Campaign.
Attending the program were comrades: Hoang Dinh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; Le Van Luong - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union; representatives of the Youth Volunteer Force Command, the Standing Committee of the Youth Union of colleges and universities and affiliated Youth Unions.

CampaignSummer Youth Volunteersis implemented from June to August and July is the peak month for social security activities and volunteering for community life. In particular, the Green Summer Volunteer Campaign is one of the 5 key programs of the annual Summer Volunteer Campaign.
This year, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has selected Tam Hop commune - Tuong Duong district - a mountainous commune in the West of Nghe An, bordering Laos, the location of Tam Hop Youth Village - Youth Volunteer Corps 9 to direct the organization of concentrated activities at the provincial level during the peak month of the Summer Campaign in July. There will be a series of activities such as: Building rural roads, Lighting up rural roads, training in transferring science and technology, teaching summer culture and skills to children and teenagers; Organizing health check-ups and consultations for people after Covid-19.

The Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee also focused on implementing key contents towards the areas of 4 poor districts according to the Prime Minister's Decision, including: Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Que Phong, and Quy Chau.
Priority areas for implementing the programs include residential areas of ethnic groups facing many difficulties such as the O Du, Kho Mu, and Mong ethnic groups; communes reaching the new rural finish line; and Youth Villages invested in and built by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union.
To effectively carry out these tasks, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has directed the establishment of 40 specialized volunteer teams with the participation of more than 1,000 youth union members.
Green Summer volunteer student teams from universities and colleges include:Vinh University, Vinh University of Technical Education; Vinh University of Medicine, Nghe An University of Economics, Nghe An College of Culture and Arts, Nghe An College of Education, Nghe An College of Tourism and Commerce, Nghe An Vietnam - Germany College, Nghe An Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical College.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union Secretary Le Van Luong emphasized that 2022 is the 23rd year that the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign has been deployed nationwide. 23 years of accompanying the national summer volunteer campaign are 23 exciting summers of Nghe An youth, affirming their youthful strength and igniting the passion for volunteering.
In the new normal state, the Covid-19 epidemic has been pushed back, the force of union members, youth, and students has set out to participate in volunteer activities to support people and children in remote areas, border and island areas. This further depicts the image of young volunteers "Going anywhere, doing anything, nothing is difficult, only fear of not being persistent".

On behalf of the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, the Provincial Youth Union Secretariat, the Provincial Student Association Secretariat, Provincial Youth Union Secretary Le Van Luong requested the volunteer student force to carry out well the following contents:
First, ensure absolute safety of people and property during activities, strictly comply with team rules. Be proactive in work, do not cause trouble for the facility.
Second, we must always uphold the spirit of initiative, volunteerism, solidarity, creativity, overcoming difficulties, bringing youthful strength, intelligence, and enthusiasm to work with local people and youth union members to effectively implement projects and tasks proposed by the youth.
Third, we must always create a close, intimate relationship with the people and youth in the campaign area to "When we go, the people remember us, when we stay, the people love us", thereby contributing to expanding the solidarity front to gather youth in the whole province.
