34 Nghe An delegates honored as prestigious people of the Northwest region

(Baonghean) - “Northwest - Hearts that light the fire” is the name of the ceremony to honor the most prestigious people in the Northwest region. This event will take place on December 5 in Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province. Nghe An has 34 delegates who are ethnic minorities honored on this occasion.

Pursuant to Directive No. 06/2008/CT-TTg dated February 1, 2008 on "Promoting the role of prestigious people among ethnic minorities in the cause of national construction and defense" and Decision No. 18/2011/QD-TTg dated March 18, 2011 of the Prime Minister on "Policy for prestigious people among ethnic minorities", the Northwest Steering Committee coordinated with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Ethnic Committee to organize a ceremony to honor exemplary prestigious people.

This is a meaningful event, affirming the strategic position of the Northwest region, and at the same time, it is an opportunity to honor prestigious people, exchange, learn experiences and replicate advanced models, contributing to promoting the role of prestigious people among ethnic minorities in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

It is expected that 547 delegates from 14 provinces in the Northwest region will attend the commendation ceremony. These are people of many ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, with different positions and fields of social life, always pioneering in implementing the Party and State's policies and guidelines as well as socio-economic development; actively participating in building the Party, government and grassroots organizations and being respected by people in their clans, hamlets, villages and hamlets.

Attending the commendation ceremony, the delegation of Nghe An province had 34 people of the following ethnic groups: Thai, Mong, Kho Mu, Tho and O Du residing in the districts and towns: Ky Son (5 people), Tuong Duong (5 people), Con Cuong (3 people), Que Phong (4 people), Quy Chau (4 people), Quy Hop (4 people), Tan Ky (2 people), Nghia Dan (2 people), Anh Son (2 people), Thanh Chuong (2 people) and Thai Hoa town (1 person).
