Four SLNA players will participate in the International U19 tournament in Thailand.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Vietnam U19 team, under the guidance of coach Philippe Troussier, has departed for Thailand to participate in the Bangkok Cup 2019 U19 football tournament. The squad includes four players from SLNA.
In preparation for the 2020 AFC U19 Championship Qualifiers, the Vietnam U19 team, under the guidance of coach Philippe Troussier, will travel to Thailand to participate in the 2019 Bangkok U19 International Friendly Tournament. Vietnam's opponents will be South Korea U19, Uzbekistan U19, and the host team, Thailand U19. The tournament will take place from October 10th to 12th, comprising four matches: two semi-finals, one final, and a third-place match.

At the press conference for the GSB U19 Bangkok 2019 tournament, the draw revealed that Vietnam U19 would face the host team, while the other match would be a battle between Uzbekistan U19 and South Korea U19.
This is the first tournament that new head coach Philippe Troussier has participated in since being chosen to replace coach Hoang Anh Tuan as head coach of the Vietnam U19 team. Hopefully, the French coach will bring a fresh spirit and playing style to ensure a successful tournament before heading to the 2020 AFC U19 Asian Qualifiers.
The list of 24 players brought by new coach Philippe Troussier includes four names from SLNA: goalkeeper Nguyen Van Ba, defender Ho Khac Luong, and midfielders Tran Manh Quynh and Dang Quang Tu. Other players who had previously played under coach Hoang Anh Tuan with the Vietnam U18 team, such as Tran Quoc Thanh, Vuong Van Huy, and Nguyen Xuan Binh, were unable to make the final list for the trip to Thailand under the new coach.
