Four organizations were designated to test the quality of the steel.
These organizations will test, inspect, and certify the quality conformity of domestically produced and imported steel.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced the list of organizations designated by the Ministry to test the quality of steel, in accordance with Joint Circular No. 44/2013/TTLT-BCT-BKHCN dated December 31, 2013, issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Accordingly, four organizations will be designated to conduct steel quality testing, including: the Industrial Testing and Inspection Center under the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Energy and Mining - Vinacomin; the Technical Center for Standards, Metrology and Quality 1 under the General Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality; the Technical Center for Standards, Metrology and Quality 3 (QUATEST 3); and SGS Vietnam Co., Ltd.
These organizations will be responsible for testing, inspecting, and certifying the quality conformity of domestically produced and imported steel in accordance with the Law on Product and Goods Quality and other relevant legal regulations.
For designated testing organizations, within the validity period of the designation decision, they must participate in a proficiency testing program and interlaboratory comparison once. They must also notify the designation authority of any changes affecting their registered testing, inspection, and certification capabilities within fifteen (15) days from the date of the change.
Designated conformity assessment bodies are responsible for compiling and reporting the results of conformity assessments on a quarterly, semi-annual (before July 15th), and annual (before January 15th of the following year) basis, or on an ad hoc basis as required. Reports should be submitted to the Department of Science and Technology (Ministry of Industry and Trade) and the General Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality (Ministry of Science and Technology).
