4 million VND per hour of game playing instruction

In Korea, there are teachers who teach League of Legends by the hour and at home with various tuition fees.

Like other extra subjects, many children in Korea have recently had a new extra subject: gaming. The reason comes from the need of some parents, who want their children to be able to "improve their intelligence" while having fun while still being under their parents' control. The rest are those who want to improve their level quickly, under the guidance of professional gamers.

According to Korean media, there are currently about 10 websites that provide gaming tutoring and rental services. There are many online game options to choose from, but the most popular is still League of Legends, the favorite game of more than 54.6% of the country's youth, according to government statistics. Overwatch, an online shooter from Blizzard, is also a new game that has received a lot of attention.

Tutors’ hourly tuition fees range from 5,000 won (VND 100,000) to 200,000 won (VND 4 million). Students can choose the level of the teacher based on the person’s in-game rank (usually Master), as well as flexible home tutoring hours. The longer the tutoring time, the more home tutoring, and the shorter the course, the higher the tuition fee.

"They teach you how to use your hands correctly, where to look with your eyes. You also get advice, discussion, and research on other issues related to the game," said a high school student who is taking this "gaming" course. Many high school students who are teased by their friends for playing poorly also seek out teachers to quickly improve their skills.

However, there have been some cases of students pretending to be professional gamers, offering to teach games despite having no qualifications, in order to earn pocket money.

As for those who want to pursue a career as a professional gamer, there are training facilities specifically for them, with high tuition fees but systematic and scientific teaching content.
