40 households escape poverty thanks to support with buffaloes and cows
(Baonghean.vn) - By purchasing breeding buffaloes and cows through the support fund of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quy Hop district, 40 households in the area have escaped poverty.
Le Thi Tham's family has been a particularly difficult household for many years in Hoc Moi hamlet, Chau Quang commune. Her son is often sick and has to be hospitalized for treatment, all the assets the couple earns is just enough for medicine for their son. Given the difficult circumstances of Tham's family, the executive committee and people of Hoc Moi hamlet have given her priority to receive support money to buy breeding cows from the Production Capital Support Program of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quy Hop district.

With a hard-working and diligent nature, from a particularly difficult household, Ms. Tham's family has escaped poverty, becoming a bright spot in the poorest hamlet of Chau Quang commune. "With the capital of 15 million VND supported by the district's Fatherland Front, the family bought a cow. From 2015-2017, the cow gave birth to 2 calves. We borrowed more from our brothers to raise buffaloes. Up to now, the family has a herd of 6 buffaloes and cows. The family has escaped poverty" - Ms. Tham happily said.

Like Ms. Tham's family, Mr. Truong Van Du's family is a particularly difficult household in Do hamlet, Tho Hop commune. After an accident, Mr. Du lost a leg, and the burden of raising a family of four fell on his wife's shoulders. After the family received support from the district's Fatherland Front to buy breeding cows, Mr. Du took advantage of the garden land to grow grass and raise cows in captivity. After 3 years of active raising, Mr. Du's family now has 4 cows.

From 2015 to 2017, the Fatherland Front Committee of Quy Hop district supported 3 times with 40 breeding cows for 40 poor and near-poor households to escape poverty. Thanks to the breeding buffalo and cow support program, 18 more calves were born, helping 40 households escape poverty sustainably.
“With the remaining fund of nearly 1.4 billion VND, we will continue to support about 130 near-poor households in the district in the near future by investing money for them to buy calves. We hope that they will escape poverty sustainably,” said Mr. Luong Hong Xuyen, Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Quy Hop district./.
