40 Chinese MCs lost their jobs because of obscene gestures while hosting live shows.
Chinese regulators have decided to punish those who violate professional ethics regulations.
At a press conference held on May 31 in Beijing, China, the Beijing Internet Culture Association and related agencies announced that 40 MCs were put on the "blacklist". According to page 163, these people will be banned from appearing as MCs in live streaming videos.
The management agency said the 40 MCs were fined mainly for having seriously provocative and depraved behavior such as: wearing revealing clothes and simulating sexual movements.
The names of the MCs on the "blacklist" have been sent to the Chinese Ministry of Culture. After approval, the agency will specifically publish the personal information of the 40 MCs.

Live streaming video is growing rapidly in China. Besides the positive aspects such as fast and real information transmission, this form has many negative aspects that require stricter control by the authorities. One of the negative aspects is that producers take advantage of the difficulty of censorship to transmit obscene and depraved content.
In an effort to control this phenomenon, in April, the Beijing authorities issued the Regulations on Professional Ethics in Live Streaming Video. Accordingly, all MCs must register their real names with the authorities, provide their ID numbers, phone numbers, and bank accounts. Anyone who violates the regulations on transmitting information related to politics, the military, or commits obscene or violent acts will be blacklisted. Behaviors such as smoking, wearing tank tops, eating bananas, and making provocative gestures while hosting a program are all considered violations of the regulations.
