40 Nghe An products have expired OCOP trademark
(Baonghean.vn) - According to information from Nghe An Rural Development Department, as of February 4, 2023, the whole province has 40 products that have expired their recognition as OCOP products.

Accordingly, the Certificate of 48 OCOP products granted to the subjects under Decision No. 303/QD-UBND dated February 4, 2020 of the Provincial People's Committee has expired from February 4, 2023.
However, up to now, only 8/48 products in this Decision have participated in the re-evaluation and re-classification.
Specifically: Brocade weaving (scarf, skirt, tablecloth) of Hoa Tien Brocade Craft Village Cooperative (Quy Chau) achieved 4 OCOP stars in 2019, in 2022, after re-evaluation, it was ranked 3 stars; Vinh Hoa herbal rice tea (Vinh Hoa Science and Technology Co., Ltd., Yen Thanh) achieved 3 OCOP stars in 2019, in 2022, re-evaluated, ranked 3 stars; Vinh orange (Minh Thanh Agricultural and Service Cooperative, Yen Thanh) achieved 3 OCOP stars in 2019, in 2022, re-evaluated and ranked 3 OCOP stars; Dien Chau lotus (Sy Thang Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Co., Ltd., Dien Chau) achieved 3 OCOP stars in 2019, in 2021, re-evaluated and ranked 4 stars.

Dried lotus seeds (Que Bac lotus cooperative, Nam Dan) achieved 3 OCOP stars in 2019, were re-evaluated in 2021 and ranked 4 stars; Ha Loan incense (Tran Thi Loan production household, Tan Lac town, Quy Chau) achieved 3 OCOP stars in 2019, were re-evaluated in 2022 and were recognized as 3 stars; Binh Minh incense (Nguyen Thi Binh production household, Tan Lac town, Quy Chau) achieved 3 OCOP stars in 2019, were re-evaluated in 2022 and were recognized as 3 stars; Hoang Mai turmeric starch (Dong Tam General Agricultural Service Cooperative, Quynh Vinh commune, Hoang Mai town) achieved 3 OCOP stars in 2019, were re-evaluated in 2022 and were recognized as 3 stars.
Up to now, although the OCOP product recognition period has expired, 40 products have not been re-evaluated and re-ranked. Specifically: Vinh City (11 products), Nam Dan (6 products), Thanh Chuong (7 products), Anh Son (3 products), Quynh Luu (4 products), Con Cuong (3 products), Yen Thanh (1 product), Dien Chau (2 products), Hoang Mai Town (1 product), Tan Ky (2 products).

Mr. Nguyen Ho Lam - Deputy Head of the Department of Rural Development said: "According to Decision No. 1048/QD-TTg on promulgating the Criteria for evaluating and classifying products of the "One Commune One Product" Program, the Certificate for OCOP products achieving from 3 to 5 stars is valid for 36 months from the date of issuance by the competent authority.
According to regulations, entities will not be allowed to continue using the OCOP product certification mark (OCOP logo with star) to print or stick on packaging and labels for their products when circulating and consuming on the market from the date of expiration. In case entities continue to use the OCOP mark on products whose certification period has expired, they will be handled according to the provisions of Decision No. 1162/QD-VPĐP-OCOP, dated September 17, 2020 of the Central Office for New Rural Area Coordination and other provisions of Vietnamese law.

Recently, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Official Dispatches No. 226 and 716 urging the re-evaluation of expired OCOP products (within 36 months)./.
