42 months in prison for 2 people who illegally bought, sold and possessed drugs

On the morning of October 25, the People's Court of Do Luong district opened a trial for the case of illegal drug trafficking and possession against Nguyen Dang Hien (born 1976) in hamlet 2, Da Son commune, Do Luong and Hoang Xuan Giang (born 1984) in hamlet 8, Trung Son commune, Do Luong.

At around 10am on June 19, Nguyen Dang Hien went to block 10, Do Luong town to buy drugs to use and sell for profit. At around 8:45am on June 20, 2016, while Nguyen Dang Hien was at home, Hoang Xuan Giang called to buy 200,000 VND worth of drugs.

After Hien agreed, Giang went to his house to buy it. After the purchase, Giang took the drugs to the cemetery of Da Son commune, Do Luong to use them, but was discovered and caught red-handed by the Do Luong police patrol. After hearing that Hoang Xuan Giang was arrested, Nguyen Dang Hien went to the Do Luong district police to surrender.

According to the conclusion of the examination by Nghe An province police, the amount of white powder seized from Hoang Xuan Giang was heroin and weighed 0.225 grams.

The People's Court sentenced Nguyen Dang Hien to 24 months in prison and Hoang Xuan Giang to 18 months in prison.

It is known that Hoang Xuan Giang has 3 previous convictions for drug possession and property theft.
