442/480 communes, wards and towns have newspapers to read during the day

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 10, the Central Inspection Delegation on the purchase and use of Party newspapers and magazines according to Conclusion 29 - KL/TW dated August 25, 2012 of the Secretariat on continuing to implement Directive No. 11 - CT/TW of the Politburo (VIII tenure) led by Comrade Phan Huy Hien, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, had a working session in Nghe An. Comrade Le Ba Hung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, representatives of the Provincial Party Committee Office, Department of Information and Communications, Nghe An Newspaper, and Provincial Post Office worked with the Delegation.

At the meeting, the representative of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department reported on the implementation of purchasing and reading Party newspapers and magazines in the province in the past time. Currently, the whole province has 530 postal and newspaper delivery routes; 442/480 communes, wards and towns have newspapers to read during the day; 9 communes on Mondays, 24 communes on Tuesdays and 5 communes have newspapers once a week (these are remote communes in Ky Son and Tuong Duong districts).

Overview of the working session.

Regarding newspaper purchasing budget, every year the Provincial Party Committee directs district, city and town Party Committees to direct Party organizations to make estimates and allocate financial plans according to instructions; supplement resources to purchase Party newspapers for policy beneficiaries such as veteran revolutionary cadres, retired key provincial leaders, and prestigious people in ethnic minority communities. Thanks to that, the number of newspaper and magazine circulations over the years has been basically stable: In 2015: Nhan Dan Newspaper reached 57%; Communist Magazine 63%; Party Building Magazine 84%; Nghe An Newspaper 98%.

The representative of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department presented the implementation of Conclusion 29 of the Secretariat and Directive 11 of the Politburo on purchasing and reading Party newspapers and magazines in the province in recent times.

However, there are still some units and localities that have not seriously implemented the Conclusion of the Secretariat and Directive 03 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; coordination between agencies and sectors in implementing the Directive is not regular and effective; some localities and units are using the reason of limited budget to misuse the allocated resources, affecting the purchase and use of newspapers and magazines according to regulations. Newspaper delivery in some remote areas is still slow.

Comrade Lam Van Doan - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper said that the distribution and use of Nghe An Newspaper increased due to many factors. The most important of which is the quality and content of Nghe An Newspaper in recent times, which have become increasingly rich, attractive to readers, and promptly reflect the economic and social life of localities.

Concluding the working session, comrade Phan Huy Hien, on behalf of the working delegation, acknowledged that over the past time, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee has made great efforts in organizing and directing the implementation of Conclusion 29 of the Central Secretariat, bringing the work of publishing and using Party newspapers and magazines to achieve good results, ranking 25th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide. At the same time, he requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to continue to pay attention to directing, especially the need to have measures to inspect and urge to overcome limitations and weaknesses so that the work of publishing and using Party newspapers and magazines can be more effective.

The Party's newspapers and magazines will closely coordinate with localities, increase the amount of propaganda time about localities, continue to improve content and form to enhance quality, ensuring increased attractiveness to attract readers.
