On the morning of June 23rd, the 2011-2012 high school entrance exam in Nghe An province began its first day. 45,987 candidates attended, with 327 absent. This year's exam involved 66 high schools, forming 84 examination boards with 1,971 examination rooms. Nghe An mobilized over 6,380 officials, teachers, inspectors, police officers, and security personnel to support the exam. The Department of Education established 4 mobile inspection teams and assigned 20 inspectors to the examination boards.

Overall, the first day of the exam went safely and seriously. Exam room discipline was strictly enforced. The Literature and Foreign Language exam questions were assessed by many teachers and students as closely aligned with the junior high school curriculum, focusing on grade 9. The exam questions basically met the requirements for differentiating students' abilities. On the first day, 10 candidates were disqualified for bringing unauthorized materials into the exam room, and 2 candidates arrived more than 15 minutes after the exam papers were distributed.


Today, candidates will take their final exam, Mathematics, with a time limit of 120 minutes.
