5 former Thanh Hoa Province Inspectorate officials prepare to stand trial for bribery
These former officials were prosecuted for "receiving bribes", "giving bribes" and "tax evasion".
The trial will take place on March 10 and 11 at Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Court.
Five former Thanh Hoa Provincial Inspectorate officials were prosecuted for "receiving bribes": Le Manh Ha (born in 1962, Head of the Inspection Team); Nguyen Hung (born in 1976, member of the Inspection Team); Duong Van Bang (born in 1962, member of the Inspection Team); Nguyen Quy Dien (born in 1969, member of the Inspection Team) and Nguyen Thi Cuc (born in 1964, deputy head of the Inspection Team).

The three business directors prosecuted for "bribery" are Tran Ngoc Tai (born in 1967), Director of Cuong Quy Enterprise (in Van Ha town, Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province).
Nguyen Van Chau, a business director in Thanh Hoa province and Nguyen Gia Hai (born in 1973), Director of Hai Lam enterprise (Dong Tho ward, Thanh Hoa city).
In addition, Nguyen Gia Hai was also prosecuted for "tax evasion". The trial was scheduled to take place on February 12 but was postponed because one of the defendants, the company director, suddenly fell ill.
Previously, through the crime denunciation report of the people, at about 3:00 p.m. on April 18, 2019, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police caught red-handed a member of the inspection team of Thanh Hoa Provincial Inspectorate receiving money from the inspected subject in Thieu Hoa district.
In connection with this incident, the police have also arrested three directors of the above enterprises to investigate the crime of "bribery".
