(Baonghean.vn) - Although up to now, many localities have allowed students to stay home from school to prevent the corona virus epidemic. However, Nghe An still decided to let students go to school as usual.

Today, February 3, the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province has just sent a document to the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of prevention and control of respiratory infections caused by the nCoV virus strain.

In this document, the Department of Education and Training "explains" 5 reasons why the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Health have not yet advised the Provincial People's Committee to let students take a break from school altogether because:

The first:Up to this point (February 3, 2020), Nghe An province has not had any individuals infected with acute respiratory infection caused by nCoV virus. The epidemic is in phase 1, so currently the focus is on propaganda work to prevent and control the epidemic...

Monday:The epidemic situation is still complicated and it is not known when it will end. Therefore, if students are allowed to stay home from school for a long time, it will affect the plans, programs and teaching and learning quality of schools.

Tuesday:The Department of Education and Training has issued a document directing the Departments of Education and Training and affiliated units to coordinate with the health sector and local authorities to monitor the development of the epidemic situation in the area, promptly grasp the situation, and if any student has a parent who has returned from working in the Chinese market, the student should be allowed to stay home from school for monitoring.

Wednesday:After the Health sector has a document to coordinate the spraying of disinfectants in all classrooms in the whole province, the Department of Education and Training will coordinate with the Department of Health to let students stay home from school (possibly in the form that if the spraying is in a district, students in that school or district will stay home from school so that the Health sector can deploy).

Thursday:The Department of Education and Training will closely coordinate with the Department of Health and relevant departments and branches to continue to actively monitor and grasp the developments of the epidemic situation in the province. When necessary, it will advise the Provincial People's Committee to decide to let students stay home from school to ensure the health and safety of students, staff and teachers.

Previously, on January 30, 2020 (before the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch on school closures), because students of Nghe An Ethnic Minority High School and Ethnic Minority High School No. 2 all returned home for the Lunar New Year holiday with their families in mountainous districts (areas with many people working in China), the Department of Education and Training proactively postponed the school start date for students until February 10, 2020.

Particularly for some schools in mountainous areas, areas with high risk of infection, the Department of Education and Training has directed the head of the Department of Education and Training to monitor and grasp the situation; coordinate with medical centers, if there are any unusual signs, immediately notify the leaders of the District People's Committee and let students stay home from school, take timely preventive and treatment measures.
