5 worst-selling car models in the first 3 months of 2017 in Vietnam
The 5 worst-selling car models in the Vietnamese market in the first 3 months of 2017 were all SUV models, including 4 imported models from Mitsubishi and Suzuki.
1. Mitsubishi Pajero (5 cars):According to the sales report of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), the cumulative sales of Mitsubishi Pajero in the first 3 months of 2017 reached only 5 units. This result also made Mitsubishi Pajero the worst-selling car model at the beginning of the year in the Vietnamese market. Mitsubishi's 7-seat SUV line is imported directly from Japan and has a retail price of 2.12 billion VND. Despite its durability, Pajero's fashion is a weakness compared to competitors such as Toyota Land Cruiser Prado or Ford Explorer.

2. Suzuki Grand Vitara (7 cars):With cumulative sales of 7 cars after 3 months, Suzuki Grand Vitara is the second worst-selling car after Mitsubishi Pajero. Despite its fashionable, European-style design and imported quality from Hungary, Grand Vitara is still not favored by Vietnamese customers. Suzuki Grand Vitara has a 1.6L engine, 6-speed automatic transmission and is priced at 779 million VND.

3. Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (14 cars):Along with Pajero, Outlander Sport is the second Mitsubishi model that is facing difficulties in the Vietnamese market. Sales in the first 3 months of 2017 of this model only reached 14 units. Outlander Sport is also imported from Japan, equipped with a 2.0L engine, CVT transmission and a retail price of 978 million VND. The interior space is not too spacious, limited amenities make Outlander Sport less competitive than competitors in the same segment.

4. Suzuki Ertiga (24 cars):Ertiga is Suzuki's second SUV after Grand Vitara, which is also facing difficulties in the Vietnamese market. The cumulative sales of this SUV after 3 months is 24 units, an average of 8 units sold per month. Despite its low price of 639 million VND, the 5+2 design and weak engine make Ertiga unpopular with Vietnamese customers.
