Nghe An establishes Department of Tourism and Investment Promotion Center

On January 6, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the Decision to establish two new agencies: Department of Tourism and Investment Promotion and Support Center.

Nghe An Department of Tourism was established on the basis of separation from the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism. The establishment of the Department aims to create conditions for Nghe An tourism industry to develop, truly becoming a key economic sector, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the province.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism (former) was appointed to the position of Director of the Department of Tourism. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh An - Deputy of the Social and Cultural Committee of the Provincial People's Council holds the position of Deputy Director of the Department.

The Investment Promotion and Support Center was established with the task of advising and assisting the Provincial People's Committee in implementing investment promotion programs in the province; supporting, consulting and coordinating to create favorable conditions for investment procedures to contribute to attracting domestic and foreign investors to invest in the province.

Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee was assigned to be in charge of and operate the Nghe An Provincial Investment Promotion and Support Center. The Center's headquarters is located at No. 3, Truong Thi Street, Vinh City.

Vinh City bans trucks 24/7 on 3 routes

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 70/2016/QD-UBND on regulations on routes and time restrictions for vehicles participating in traffic in Vinh city.

Accordingly, there are 58 routes that prohibit trucks with a permitted cargo weight of 1.8 tons or more and passenger cars with 16 seats or more from operating from 06:00 to 22:00 every day.

19 routes prohibit trucks with a permitted cargo weight of 4 tons or more and passenger cars with 16 seats or more from 06:00 to 22:00 every day.

The above regulations exclude official vehicles, buses, contract vehicles, tourist vehicles, vehicles transporting officials, employees, students, armed forces, vehicles used for funerals and weddings.

Particularly, the routes: Truong Thi, Ho Tung Mau, Le Mao (section from the provincial post office intersection to the intersection with Tran Phu street) will prohibit all types of trucks from operating 24/7 every day.

Free clothing stall connects community

On the afternoon of January 5, a special clothing stall appeared at Tam Giac flower garden, Le Loi street - Vinh city. Here, people can bring clothes to donate and use for free.

The cabinet was set up on the side of the road, open to the public, and above the cabinet was a sign that read “Free Clothing Store”. On the opening afternoon, dozens of people came to see, try on, and take clothes home.

This free clothing stall was created by young people living in Vinh City, aiming to contribute to bringing a warmer winter to the poor in the city. The first 40-50 old clothes displayed at the closet were well received by everyone and there were also people who brought their own clean, intact clothes to put in the closet to share with others.

The program “Warm Winter Love” will take place from January 5 to January 23 (December 26 of the lunar calendar). During those days, the program’s wardrobe will be open continuously to receive and share everyone’s clothes.

On the afternoon of January 3, the Provincial People's Committee and Nghe An Provincial Police organized a ceremony to commend the 126P Project Team, led by the Environmental Police Department in coordination with the Traffic Police Department and the Provincial Police, for fighting and arresting a subject who illegally bought, sold, and transported nearly 500kg of various types of fireworks.

Previously, on December 31, 2016, in the area on National Highway 46, in Nam Dan Town (Nam Dan District), the Working Group of the Environmental Police Department coordinated with Team 46 of the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province Police to discover a truck with Lao license plate UN 0876 driven by Nguyen Ba Thin, born in 1989, residing in Thanh Phong Commune (Thanh Chuong District) transporting nearly 500kg of various types of firecrackers, hidden in the truck's trunk, tires and gasoline tank.
