Severe flooding after prolonged heavy rains has occurred frequently in Vinh city. |
Explaining the phenomenon of widespread flooding in Vinh when there is prolonged rain, a representative of Vinh city said that currently, the level 1 canal system in the city is still lacking in many places, the level 2 canal system is too old, has a small cross-section, and the level 3 canal system is not regularly repaired, so it is not synchronized in drainage.
Other causes have also been pointed out, such as many project works during the construction process have also encroached on the canal system; the connection between canals is still inadequate, the identification of blockage points is not accurate, and the budget for maintenance is still lacking. In addition, the management is still loose and not thorough; the dredging and sedimentation of the drainage system is not regular...
Based on the identified causes, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong concluded: In addition to the weather factor, it is necessary to determine the correct and correct plan to prevent flooding for Vinh city and surrounding areas. First of all, the Vinh City People's Committee is required to accelerate the construction and completion of Vinh urban upgrading projects, flood prevention projects, inspect and assign wards and communes to dredge canals, repair pumping stations, and thoroughly handle technical infrastructure works that obstruct the flow. The city needs to coordinate with units such as electricity, post office... to inspect underground systems and equipment that affect drainage works and discuss timely solutions. At the same time, speed up the completion of the city's flood prevention project phase 3.

Two teachers Truong Manh Linh and Hoang Nguyen Hong introduced the pneumatic brake system and rear axle transmission. |
They are two teachers Truong Manh Linh and Hoang Nguyen Hong, both born in 1989. Graduated from the Faculty of Dynamic Mechanics of Vinh University of Technical Education, in 2013, the two friends from the same school and class worked at the Northern Nghe An Economic and Technical Vocational College. Here, the two teachers were assigned to teach vocational training at the Faculty of Automotive Technology.
Due to difficulties encountered in the teaching process, such as: students having difficulty absorbing lessons, and the lack of practical communication due to lack of supporting equipment, Mr. Linh and Mr. Hong had the initiative to make their own equipment to serve the teaching work.
With a cost of 29 million VND to buy scrap car accessories, within 3 months, teachers and students of the Faculty of Automotive Technology contributed to successfully manufacture a pneumatic brake system and axle transmission to apply to vocational training at the school. Thanks to its superior features, this unique initiative was invited to participate in the 5th National DIY Training Equipment Competition, held from October 30 to November 5, 2016 in Can Tho City, organized by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and won first prize out of 10 first prizes of the competition.
Medical facilities accused of being 'forced' to buy frozen plasma
Patients in need of red blood cell transfusions for treatment, medical facilities that come to buy at the Hematology - Blood Transfusion Center of Nghe An province are 'forced' to buy more frozen plasma, is a reflection of a number of medical facilities to the Nghe An Newspaper hotline.

Accordingly, when medical facilities came to the Nghe An Province Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center to buy a bag of packed red blood cells to serve the patient's blood transfusion needs, they were "forced" to buy an additional 150ml bag of frozen plasma and a testing fee of 215,000 VND.
Meanwhile, 1 unit of packed red blood cells with testing costs 675 thousand VND. Thus, medical facilities have to spend an additional 215 thousand VND to pay for frozen plasma while there is no need to use this product.
This medical facility reported that although the patient had no indication and no need for frozen plasma transfusion, the fact that the Nghe An Provincial Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center was forced to purchase frozen plasma when purchasing packed red blood cells caused a huge waste, but the medical facilities had no other choice, because this was the only place to supply blood and blood products in Nghe An.
