(Baonghean.vn) - The gearbox is a very important part of the car, it has the function of increasing, decreasing torque and transmitting power to the wheels... And many daily driving habits can be damaging your car's gearbox. Pay attention to prevent it to keep your car more durable and safe.

1. Stop the car suddenly

To keep the car durable, the driver needs to know how to properly align the car, avoid sudden stops that affect the car's transmission system, the gearbox is heavily affected by this carelessness of the driver. Not only that, many other parts of the car are also affected when the driver stops suddenly, such as causing wear and tear on the brakes, tires and consuming more fuel.

2. Do not overheat the engine

This is a habit that almost every driver has made, starting the car, shifting gears and shifting gears. Many engine parts are not warmed up, the engine oil has not reached the required temperature and the car has already shifted gears.

As a result, the gearbox cannot avoid wear and tear because the gearbox oil has not yet reached the required temperature. In case, the outdoor temperature is low, it takes more time to start up to reach the required temperature for the gearbox as well as the engine.

3. Shift to neutral (N) when encountering a red light

Shifting gears to “stop the car” will definitely cause wear and tear on the components in the gearbox due to friction such as the clutch. Therefore, give up this habit if you do not want your car to break down quickly.

4. Operating the vehicle with an improper oil level

If your transmission runs out of fluid or has very little fluid left, your vehicle will have problems. Fluid helps cool and lubricate the internal parts of the transmission. When fluid runs low or runs out, the internal parts start to rub against each other, heat up, and cause damage.

5. Transmission abuse

When the vehicle is stuck in sand, mud, etc., continuous use of the transmission system at high intensity will cause overheating and damage to the transmission. In these cases, try to dig out the wheel space and push/pull the vehicle out.
