“Messenger of Death” Delilah
On the night of May 9, Israel fired Delilah cruise missiles at Syrian targets near the capital Damascus. This was the largest attack by the Tel Aviv government on Syrian territory from the Golan Heights.
The Delilah missile is designed to destroy targets with an accuracy of only 1 meter. It has the most accurate range of the Israeli army at the moment. The Delilah missile uses a 30 kg warhead but can hit targets from a distance of 250 km. Merkava main battle tank
Israel's Merkava IV main battle tank is known as the "Windbreaker". Its hull uses fiberglass which is more resistant to bullet penetration than steel alloys.
Merkava IV is equipped with the Trophy APS active protection system to help it defend against threats from modern anti-tank weapons. This system includes 4 sensors mounted around the turret with the ability to cover the entire surrounding area.
The Trophy active protection system helps block anti-tank missiles and anti-tank grenade launchers. This system successfully intercepted a Merkava IV anti-tank missile in 2011.
According to the War Vehicle website, thanks to the Trophy APS defense system and solid armor, the Merkava IV is considered the best protected tank in the world. Some international experts compare this Israeli tank to the Russian T-90 main battle tank.
Merkava IV uses a 120 mm smoothbore gun, which can fire Lahat missiles at a range of 8 km. The tank is equipped with a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun, a 60 mm mortar and a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun. Merkava IV has a maximum speed of 65 km/h and an operating range of 500 km.
ATMOS 2000 Howitzer self-propelled gun
The ATMOS 2000 self-propelled gun is a 6x6 wheeled gun, combining an advanced stabilization system and an armored cockpit. This is a gun model actively researched and manufactured by the Israeli army and is considered the most superior in the world today. It has mobility, an automatic fire control system and a very fast rate of fire. With only a crew of 4, the ATMOS 2000 self-propelled gun can fire 9 rounds/minute.
ATMOS 2000 self-propelled gun uses a 155 mm caliber gun, mounted on an ATHOS 2052 towed artillery vehicle. The total weight of ATMOS 2000 self-propelled gun is 22 tons, and can be mounted on a C-130 transport aircraft. The firing range of the self-propelled gun is up to 41 km.
Once in firing position, the two hydraulic bipods are lowered, and target information is fed into the computerized fire control system (AFCS), which includes a locator and ballistic computer attached to the gun. The AFCS displays detailed target information, selects the firing angle, and adjusts the gun hydraulically, or can be operated manually when necessary.
